Getting to know you

Take a look at the list of questions I have given you below and think about what you want to say about yourself.

  • Write down the names of at least five people (living or dead) who inspire you. Alongside each name, identify one positive quality that they embody.
  • Do you think you’re currently operating at 100% capacity? If yes then how and why? If no, the same.
  • Have you ever dramatically changed a habit, or gotten yourself out of a rut? How’d you do it?
  • If you were heading out on a ROAD TRIP right this minute, what would you pack?
  • If you were to die three hours from now, what would you regret most?
  • Ever fantasize about being in a rock band? What would your group be called?
  • What’s your guiltiest of guilty pleasures?
  • What’s the hardest thing you ever had to write — and why?
  • If you could custom blend a perfume or cologne, what would it smell like?
  • Give one adjective that starts with your name.
  • If you had a time machine that would work only once, what point in the future or in history would you visit?
  • If your house was burning down, what three objects would you try and save?
  •  If you could talk to any one person now living, who would it be and why?
  • If you were an animal, what would you be and why?
  • Name one thing you really like about yourself.
  • If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?

Take some of the answers you get from thinking about these questions and write a rap/song/poem/ to tell us something about yourself.

Check out this slam to get an idea of how you can think about putting this together:
